SERP Score Calculation
SERP Score calculation formula is:
SERP Score = SEO Metrics + Similar Keywords
Weightage given to:
- SEO metrics is 16 points (as it has total 16 SEO conditions)
- Similar keywords is 3 points.
Hence, the total score is calculated out of 19.
Total 16 metrics | Similar keywords | Total score |
---|---|---|
16 | 3 | 16+3=19 |
A. SEO Metrics
Based on the keyword entered in serpok search, the total number of search results links are analyzed as specified by the user. Our system evaluates each website link with the 16 SEO metrics (check below image).
Then, an average value is calculated as per the total number of site links and the SEO metrics.
For every SEO metric, a score of 1 point is given if the value is equal to or greater than the average value. Similarly, if the value is less than the average value, score of point 0 is given to that particular site link’s SEO metric score.
Example:
As shown in the image above, there are 16 SEO metrics each denoting 1 point. An average is calculated for every metric depending upon the total number of site links selected.
Suppose the average calculated after analysing top 5 search results for total words is 1000.
So, link 1 should have word count equal to or greater than 1000 to score 1 point. If the score of total words in link 1 is 800(which is less than the average score) then it will be given 0 point. If suppose the total words score is 1200(which is greater than the average score) it will be given 1 point.
Note: Each link should be equal to or greater than the average to score 1 point.
B. Similar keywords
Whenever a keyword is searched on SERP Overview tab, our system scans the top ranking sites with the “searched keyword”. It analyses each website link for “searched keyword” and generates 80 common keywords from all the selected sites.
Common keywords pattern:
- “searched keyword” abc
- “searched keyword” abc xyz
- “searched keyword” abc xyz 123
- abc “searched keyword”
- abc xyz “searched keyword”
- abc xyz 123 “searched keyword”
- abc “searched keyword” xyz
- abc xyz “searched keyword” 123
- abc “searched keyword” xyz 123
- etc pattern like above
Then it analyses every single site with the number of keywords they are using.
Example, the first link uses 30 similar keywords out of 80. So the percentage calculation is 37.50%
37.5% of 3 equals to 1.125 which rounds off to 1.
Therefore, out of 3 points, the first site link scores 1 point for Similar keywords.
SERP Score Calculation Explanation
As described in the image below, the score is calculated for all 16 metrics.
The first column denotes the metrics
The second column score of link 1
The third column compares the average value with the current value of each metric
The fourth columns denotes the score obtained by link 1 for every SEO metric
Explanation:
Total words used in link 1 is 856 whereas the average score is 1236. Since the total word value is less than the average score, 0 point is given as shown in the image.
Keyword frequency is 64 whereas the average is 34. Since the keyword frequency value is more than the average score, 1 point is given.
Similarly for paragraph, headings, images and total links, point 1 is given for each metric as it is greater than the average value.
In the rest of the metrics, 1 point is given for every ‘yes’ value whereas 0 point is given for ‘no’ value.
The final SERP score for link 1 is 58.
Metric Score out of 16 | 10 |
Similar keyword score out of 3 | 1 |
Final Score out of 19 (16+3) | 11 |
Link 1 Serpok score out of 100 | 58 |
